Uxbridge, Built Together.

The Bonner Boys are a volunteer crew turning local events, good times, and neighbourly generosity into real projects and real help for real people.

What started in 2004 as a few friends raising money in memory of Brent Bonner has grown into a community club that’s helped put a splash pad by the arena, backed youth programs, and raised over $1.6 million for the people of Uxbridge and surrounding communities.

🌟 Celebrating Our Milestones 🌟

  • $1.6M+ raised for local projects and people in need

  • Bonner Boys Splash Pad beside the Uxbridge Arena

  • Weekly Cruise-In Car Show at Elgin Park, May–September

  • 20+ years of events, memories, and community support

Who Are the Bonner Boys?

The Bonner Boys are a not-for-profit, volunteer community group based in Uxbridge.

We started in 2004, after the passing of our friend Brent Bonner. At first, the idea was simple: support his young family and honour his #26 jersey with a few grassroots fundraisers.

The town showed up.

Those early events turned into something bigger – a standing promise that if Uxbridge needed a hand, the Boys would find a way to help.

Today, the Bonner Boys Community Club runs events, funds local projects, and steps in when neighbours hit tough times. The goal hasn’t changed:

Fun. Memories. Friendship. Community.

When a Good Idea Becomes Concrete (And Water)

The Bonner Boys Splash Pad

If you’ve ever taken your kids to cool off at the splash pad by the Uxbridge Arena, you’ve already seen what this community can do when it rallies behind an idea.

Working alongside the Township, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, local sponsors, and countless donors, the Bonner Boys helped push the splash pad from “wouldn’t it be nice” to a built, buzzing, summer landmark.

It’s one of many projects the Boys have backed over the years – but it’s a perfect example of what we’re here for: take something that helps local families and make it real, one fundraiser and event at a time.

Events That Feel Like Uxbridge

From rows of gleaming classic cars to the smell of ribs in Elgin Park, the Bonner Boys events are all about raising money by getting people together.

Cruise-In at Elgin Park

Thursday nights, May through September, Elgin Park turns into a rolling car show. Expect chrome, old stories, new friends, and 150–400 vehicles on a good night – all helping raise funds for local causes.

Uxbridge Ribfest

A full weekend of live music, big barbecues, and that “where else would you rather be?” feeling. The Boys have been behind Ribfest since 2015, using good food and good times to raise money for the community.

Tournaments, Draws & Pop-Up Help

Annual hockey tournaments, golf and ball events, dunk tanks at the Fall Fair, elimination draws, and one-off nights when someone local needs a hand. If it brings people together and does some good, the Boys are probably involved.

Where the Money Goes

Every ticket sold, every car parked, every rack of ribs, and every draw entry is part of the same story: keeping support local.

Over the years, the Bonner Boys Community Club has helped:

  • Fund major community builds like the Bonner Boys Splash Pad

  • Support youth programs and spaces in Uxbridge

  • Back local projects, clubs, and initiatives that keep the town thriving

  • Quietly help families and neighbours when they’re up against it

We’re not a big, distant charity. We’re your neighbours, putting time and energy back into the same streets, parks, and arenas we all share.

Want to Pitch In?

The Boys are all volunteers – people with day jobs, families, and busy lives who still make space to set up tents, flip burgers, park cars, run draws, and haul gear so Uxbridge can keep doing what it does best.

There are three main ways to get involved:

Volunteer:

Help with event setup and teardown, BBQ shifts, gates, parking, or family-friendly roles at our larger events. No experience needed – just a willingness to pitch in.

Sponsor:
Support specific events like Cruise-In nights or Ribfest, or come on board for a project build. Sponsors help us raise more, do more, and keep events accessible for everyone.

Donate:

Want to support but can’t make it out to volunteer? You can contribute directly to the Bonner Boys Community Club and help fund future projects and assistance.

The Bonner Boys Community Club is an Ontario not-for-profit corporation, not a registered charity. That means we don’t automatically issue official donation tax receipts the way a registered charity can. If you have questions about this, we’re happy to talk it through and point you to the CRA’s guidance on not-for-profits vs. charities.

We Don’t Do This Alone

The Bonner Boys stand on the shoulders of a generous town – sponsors, partners, local businesses, volunteers, and neighbours who show up year after year.

We’re grateful for support from organisations like:

  • Township of Uxbridge

  • Ontario Trillium Foundation

  • Uxbridge Youth Centre

  • Local businesses and sponsors who back events and projects

And just as important: thank you to every person who’s ever parked a car at Cruise-In, bought a rack of ribs, lined up at the dunk tank, or showed up to help us build something new.
